For the area, this can't be beat. While the price is a bit steep, we found that it gave us everything that we wanted, a good, level site, reliable electricity, good Wi-Fi, and a feeling of security. When we are back in this area we will definitely stay for more than 3 or 4 days. This is one of the best KOAs that we have experienced in a long, long time.

Not that bad to get to from I-64, but the GPS led us across the Eades Bridge, and past the stadium on a game day for the Rams. No real problems, just more city traffic than we would normally choose, but that's not the fault of the campground. On game days the campground is interesting, with tailgaiting and other cavorting, but none of it presented any problems. We will definitely come back, and for more than just an overnight stay.

Overall, this place was fine for an overnight, or if you're lucky enough to get a site that gives you satellite access, and if you're not staying at your site, it could be fine for a few more days. The roads are tight for a larger motorhome towing a vehicle, and some of the sites are an impossible challenge. There are a lot of trees, not only messing with your satellite reception, but menacing your rig as you maneuver the campground. We lucky enough, and very surprised, to actually get satellite reception from site F. The roads leading into the campground are also rather tight and menacing. If we are ever back in this area, since other options are limited for us, we will probably come back, but WalMart looks good to us as an option.

We just left after an extended period of time in this campground. We keep going back because they do everything right. This year was unusually wet and rainy which resulted in puddles in the roads and some of the campsites, but they were filled in as soon as possible. The trees can make it difficult for a large motorhome to maneuver while towing a car, but only in a few spots. The only reason for not rating them as a 10 is that there is always room for improvement. We are already looking forward to our next trip up here.

Great place for an overnight. The only problems we had were that I don't think that it is possible to hook enough sewer hoses together to reach the drain in our campsite, and the dump station wasn't designed for a larger motorhome. Also, there is no signage leading to the campground, and especially when leaving the campground, there is nothing leading you back to the Interstate. On a Saturday morning you can turn around in the AT&T parking lot, but not without driving over some of their plants. Having said all of that, we will definitely stop again if in the area.

The park was clean and quiet. The sites were plenty wide but barely long enough for a larger motorhome, and they were barely level. The 50 amp electric service worked well. WI-FI is through Tengonet, and very weak at the bottom of the hill, and as posted before, cell phone signals border on being nonexistent often. There were no major issues, but we will probably not return to this campground because of the small things. There are plenty of other campgrounds in the immediate area, including one affiliate of this campground, which will more than meet our expectations.

This was our second time to camp here. Both times we have used it as an overnight, and will continue to do so as the need arises. The sites were wide enough and level enough for a big rig, and the utilities worked well. The office staff was great.

Looking out the window of our RV one would be impressed with the view. There are lush rolling lawns going down to the playground that abuts the meandering river. This is definitely a family oriented campground. The staff is friendly and appears to take pride in their establishment. There is no cable TV, nor wi-fi, but excellent cell phone reception. The roads are still a bit rough, and the interior roads are somewhat steep, but navigable. It could be tight for a larger motorhome.

The campground was very clean and quiet. Being a holiday weekend, we were thrilled to be able to not have to commit to a three day stay. The owners/staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the campground was lovely with all of its trees. It is a very family friendly campground, with a lot of scheduled activities. We were fortunate to get a site that allowed us to park without detaching the towed vehicle (we're in a 40 foot motorhome) and have satellite access from the roof antenna. I think that 40 feet is pretty much as large as the campground can easily handle, but we didn't have any problems, just some white knuckle moments. If our schedule dictated, we would come back here in an instant.

A very nice park, especially for an overnight. The fact that they have a cafe on the grounds made breakfast before getting back on the road a snap. The staff was great. The grounds were clean, the roads were wide enough for a big rig towing, and the sites were long enough that we did not have to un-hook. If we come back to this area we will definitely come back to this campground.

This is a seasonal park, probably packed to the gills during the Winter months. Even staying for a few days at the end of their season, the park had what seemed to be a lot of permanent park model residents. They don't advertise their willingness to accept Thousand Trails members at a reduced rate, which is what our rate was. If we return to this area, we will definitely come back here, even though there are a zillion campgrounds in the area.

This was the third time that we've stayed in this park, and would stay here again. Having said that, we have reserved a space in another park for next winter, but only for a little extra room between us and our neighbors. This park has everything we could ask for in amenities, but for a 40 foot motorhome, it's just slightly too tight for our tastes. Also, there are a lot of permanent residents who are taking up the easiest spots for transients, or making the egress from your spot difficult when you leave for the season. Again, it gave us everything we felt that we wanted for 3 months, but we'll try something different next year, knowing that we can come back if the extra room we're looking for can't top the atmosphere here.

Although we only spent one night here, we will come back and spend more time in this area. Our site was on the river, and very roomy and level. We made our reservation On-line, and found that there were other, less expensive, sites available when we got there. Next time we'll call for our reservation to see what is available at that time. Another very minor complaint would be the directions on both their Website and in the directories. Upon exiting the park, we decided that there is an easier way into the park for our next visit. However, as I said earlier, we will be back for a longer stay.

Although they claim to be big rig friendly, with the exception of a few sites, it is challenging to maneuver a 40 foot motorhome into the sites. We were "escorted" to our site by an employee who got out of the cart and stood there watching, and not warning us about a rock on the passenger side, which did major damage to a basement door. The rock on the driver's side was very evident. He then denied the fact that he was out of his cart and stated that I turned too sharply. The sites are very narrow, the roads are narrow, and there are trees which hamper the extension of slides as well as entry and exit from your site. This is a corporate KOA, and I can't believe that they are so willing to continue to keep known hazards such as the rocks in their campground, and not warn those driving larger motorhomes of the tight nature of their campground. Even without the damage, we will not return to this campground. There are others in town, and we rejected them based on prior experience, but they now look better than this campground.

Good for an overnight. Sites are a little narrow, but all four slides went out with no problems. WI-FI worked for 2 of our 3 computers, and worked well for them. We would stay here on another trip if in the area.

What a difference 3 years makes. The last time we were here I rated it at a 5; this time at a 9. They have really cleaned up the place. I still wouldn't call it a resort, but in my opinion, it's the best park for the money in the Albuquerque. We will absolutely return, and maybe spend a few extra days seeing friends in the area.

This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in. Our site is a pull-through which is long and level. It is a little narrow with 4 slides, but there is still plenty of room for us since we're out all day, and it is too cold to spend much time out in the evening. As posted before, there is no TV reception other that satellite, and our site have us reception within a couple of minutes of pulling in. We had originally planned on staying 2 nights, but the park was nice enough, and we justified our decision by the fact that we couldn't see all that we wanted in one day. We plan on coming back to this area, and particularly this park.

Easy access from the Interstate, and convenient to all of the surrounding sites. Office staff was pleasant but not overly helpful. Sites were very nice, we had a pull-through behind the office, and, although slightly tight, the slides all opened, and on the grass side, there was plenty of room, but on the driver's side, we had to walk through our neighbor's site to complete our hookup. If in the area again, we would certainly return.

Nice park, the only reason for the lower rating is the fact that they don't have 50amp service and the WI-FI doesn't really get out to the campsites. We will come back.

Once again, this campground didn't disappoint us. Even though it had been 2 years since we were last here, we were greeted with a "Welcome back, where were you last year?". We will still continue to plan our trips to include a stop here, and probably more than an overnight to allow us to explore the Salt Lake City area. We only wish that more campground owners were as camper-friendly as these folks are.

This is one of our favorite parks in their system on the West Coast. I would have given them a higher rating, but there is 50 amp service in only half of the campground, and cable TV on the 30 amp side, with trees blocking satellite reception in a lot of the sites on the 50 amp side. We keep coming back, and will do so many time this summer.

Excellent for a one night stay, and nice enough that we are thinking about staying a few extra days in the future to explore the area. Will definitely come back.

We have stayed here before, which is why we chose to stay here today. I'm giving it a lower rating than before because when we arrived, at 4:30 PM, the office was closed, and, although we had made a reservation, there was nothing at the Late Check in to tell us our campsite. Furthermore, we observed one other person in our same situation, both having reserved 50 amp sites and we got the only one. This disregard for their customers means that, in the future we will drive the extra 45 miles to Laramie on our way west, and stop 45 miles sooner in Laramie on our way home, knowing that we like the facilities here more than in Laramie. At least in Laramie they have treated us like customers who were appreciated.

We came back, one more time. The park was still fairly full, not knowing who are permanent or not. We still think that it is one of the best in the area and will continue to return. Our site was level and roomy, and not one of the premium sites that we have used in the past. As I said, we will return.
11/2007
rating [ 8/10 ]
Very nice park, great staff. The only reason for not giving it a higher rating is that, for a 40' Motorhome, it was extremely tight getting into the campsite. The staff leads you to your site, and guides you in, and, although I'm usually uncomfortable with someone other than my wife guiding me, he also drives a Motorhome and knew what my concerns were jockeying into the site. WIFI works well in the office area, but not at the sites at this time. When we come back for a winter, we'll check out the site and access to same before trying to get into it. There are some empty sites that wouldn't have given us the challenge getting into, and I will insist on one of those next time. The bottom line is that we will return, it has everything that we need.

rating [ 8/10 ]
This was a return trip for us. There are some sites that are open for satellite access, and all sites are big enough for any size rig. It's about 20 miles to a real grocery store, which can be a drawback, but we've experienced worse. This is dependable and predictable, we'll be back.
09/2007
rating [ 4/10 ]
While the park is clean and attractive, I'm giving it the low rating that I am because, in my opinion, it is not at all big rig friendly. I think that calling it big rig hostile is an understatement. The first site we were assigned was almost impossible to get to in a 40 MH, and when we got there it was impossible for me to back into because of trees. The next site was accessible, but not the 50 amp full hookup we reserved. If we can't find something else close, and if family stays in the area we would probably come back, but with great reservations.

I'm not sure I'm in the same campground the earlier reviewers have rated. Our site is level, roomy, full hookup, and 50 amp electrical service. We aren't near a highway, and everything in the campground is clean and tidy. This is one of the best campgrounds of our 5 month trip. We were so happy with the campground that we extended our stay 4 more days. We had originally booked 3 days, based on the previous reviews, but were so impressed when we got here that we went ahead and extended our stay. If we ever come back to this area we will most certainly return to this campground.

Great campground. We had been here before, and will continue to return as long as the current owners are there. The only reason for not giving them higher rating is that it can be a little tight from a few sites for a big rig, although you can make it, and those same trees make satellites a challenge. We're already planning next year's trips around a return here.
07/2007
rating [ 7/10 ]
Although they say that they are big rig friendly, 40 foot is about all that they can handle. We filled the campsite and barely extended into the road, which was plenty wide. There are a limited number of 50 amp sites, and they don't seem to try to save them for those who need 50 amp power, even when there are plenty of other sites available. All of that said, we would probably go back if in the area, but only if 50 amp were available.

Facilities were nice and clean, WIFI worked great for a while, then dropped us. Sites were roomy, although some were at a great incline, but we were still able to level without having to use blocks. Will return when we are in the area.

We've stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed. There are a large number of permanent residents, but that has not been an issue. The location is the best for us at this time, but with KOA buying a campground in Arlington, we'll give it a try. Not all sites are level or easily accessible for a big rig, and the WIFI, for a fee, is the absolute worst that we have encountered in the last 2 years or so. The connection keeps dropping even though we are in line of sight of the antennae. That said, we will, in all likelihood, return, time and time again, although we will check out the "new" KOA.

We had stopped here before, and wondered if it would be as good the second time around, and were pleased that it was. The only complaint could be that, as late in the season as we were, the pancake breakfast wasn't available. A small price to pay for the convenience and the warm greeting, welcoming us back. We will always plan our trips to include a stopover here.
10/2006
rating [ 9/10 ]
Sites are rather tight if you have slides, and trees could hamper satellite reception unless you are in one of the sites on the South side. Other than that, it is a great place for an overnight, or a couple of nights. Owners are incredible hosts. We have been here on previous occasions, and they recognized us and made us feel like family coming home for the holidays. We had planned our trip to include this as a stop-over, and don't regret it a bit. Free WIFI works great, and overcomes the lack of cable TV. We will continue to plan our trips to include a stop here.

This was our second visit to this campground, and we weren't disappointed. Although the seasons had changed, and the "nature" that had enthralled us in the spring wasn't there, the campground was everything we remembered. We will plan to return on future trips.
10/2006
rating [ 8/10 ]
Friendly staff, and nice sites. Wide enough for slides, and long enough to not require unhooking towed vehicle. Roads are a little tight for maneuvering a big rig, but only slightly so. WIFI wasn't working the night we were there, but that's computers. Will stay here again, even if it means adding an hour drive time to a day on the road.
09/2006
rating [ 9/10 ]
A little pricey, but not so considering the accessibility to Seattle. Sites are level, but rather tight for a big rig. Very few 50 amp sites, and Cable TV is limited. It is obvious that the campground is only intended to be a base for exploring the Seattle area. Very convenient to the airport if you have family/kids flying in to join you for a while. Staff is friendly this year. We have experienced indifference on an earlier occasion, but that goes with the season and available work kampers. We keep coming back, and will continue to do so. It is a reliable source for us in the Seattle area.

Great park. Room for big rigs, and Satellite accessibility. Limited Cable TV, but the best, quickest WIFI we have found to date. Worth the hassle of having to pay for it. They even offer a cash rebate coupon for fuel at a station across the highway. Our second time here, and will make a point of stopping here on future trips, even if it means a really short day of travel. Would have given it a 10, but I don't think I've really seen one of those yet.

We stayed here on our way up in May, and now again on our way home. Even in the lower section, the road noise wasn't that bad. Guests of the campground get a 3 cent per liter discount on fuel. Will stay here again in the future.

Great campground for overnight or multiple day stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Although it offers big rig access, some of the sites are a little snug when pulling in because of trees. However, sites are long enough that you don't have to unhook the towed vehicle. They are in the process of obtaining WIFI access. Good restaurant next door. Have stayed here once before and will absolutely return.
08/2006
rating [ 10/10 ]
Large park with easy access. A plus is the Service Station on the property with diesel and propane, and enough room to fuel without disconnecting the towed vehicle, also, a full grocery store within one block of the campground. Friendly, helpful staff. We will be back.

Even though they claim to be open until Sept. 15, all that they offered were dry hookups on August 21. We were the only people in the campground, and there wasn't anyone in the office, just operating on the honor system. We might stop here on our way to Valdez next week, but only because it is practically the only place around.

The resident managers are incredible. The park is clean, roomy, and one of the best we have encountered on this trip. We changed our plans to stay here for another 10 days just because it is such a pleasant environment. We will plan future trips to include this campground.

Nice, new park right on the water, and next to "The Fishing Hole" on the Homer Spit. Waterfront sites have picnic tables and a great view. As the previous poster said, it would have been a 10 if the cost had been more reasonable.

Although water was "available" it was not turned on in the campground. Television was re-broadcast over their system, and not available to everyone's RV systems. WIFI was only operable in the office area, and Good Sam discount was only offered with cash payment. The only thing to recommend it over a roadside rest stop was 30 amp electrical service.
05/2006

Nice park for a base to explore the area. Good accessibility from the highway. Friendly and helpful staff. Not a destination park, but a it doesn't pretend to be. Will come back.

There's nothing "special" about this campground other than it's convenient location to the highway, and the owners. We have stayed here on 4 or 5 occasions while traveling, and will continue to do so. Wakeeney is not a destination sight for many people, but that shouldn't be a detraction to this campground. It is one of the best overnight "destinations" we have found, and will keep planning our trips to include a stip here to unwind.
04/2006
rating [ 7/10 ]
The interior roads are a bit snug for a big rig towing, but negotiable. The roads are paved as is our site. There are railroad tracks immediately behind the campground, but the trains weren't a distraction to us, nor did they cause us any lost sleep. While we are only staying two nights, we will come back to this campground when we decide to spend some real time in the Portland area.
04/2006
rating [ 8/10 ]
While the interior roads are a tad tight for a big rig towing, we haven't found the trees to be a threat. TV reception without a Satellite can be frustrating, but the attitude of the owners easily overcomes any criticism. They are a young couple, as has been stated before, and are doing a credible job of offering a great overnight destination. If we ever choose to stay in the Salt Lake area for more than one night, we will stay here.
04/2006
rating [ 7/10 ]
This was the third or fourth time we have stopped at this campground for an overnight stay, and while it isn't a "Resort" it has certainly been adequate for an overnight stay. On one occasion the roads have been muddy and potholed, but following a Wyoming winter that should be expected. The highway noise is certainly acceptable for a campground as convenient to the Interstate as we all expect when traveling. A 10 it ain't, but certainly a 1 or 2 is unwarranted.
04/2006
rating [ 10/10 ]
We found this park so delightful that I am hesitant to recommend it to others, thinking that it will become as popular as it deserves, and there won't be room for us on our next trip. The scenery is spectacular, the owners are great, the park was spotless. It was a perfect place for us. We will undoubtedly make many return trips, even going out of our way to do so.

As the other posts have said, the sites are very narrow, but we have enough room to open all 4 slides, and if we wanted, could extend the awning. Getting out of the site was a "white knuckle" event with trees threatening the Motorhome. While they claim to be "Big Rig Friendly" if you want full hookups and 50 amp service, you are extremely limited and I viewed it as "Big Rig Hostile". The interior roads are paved, the sites are not, and the road to the full hookup pull through sites had a turn that is almost too tight for a 40 foot to handle, anything larger couldn't make it. It is convenient to I 40 for an overnight stop, but in the future I'll drive the extra 40 - 50 miles in either direction for a different KOA.
01/2006
rating [ 8/10 ]
As others have said, the sites tend to be rather narrow, but we had no problems with extending all four slides. Since it is January, we have not spent much time outside where we would use the awning, but it looks like we would have enough space to do so. The staff led us to our site, and gave excellent directions helping us get situated where all of the slides would open without interferrence from the trees. They are marking various trees to remove to make the sites more useable. Depending on your neighbor, exiting your site could be a problem if you leave before they are out for the day and are inconsiderate as to their parking habits, as the interior roads are also rather tight. The campground is convenient for exploring the area. We are here for a week, and would come back if in the area again.
01/2006
rating [ 5/10 ]
Friendly staff and convenient for an overnight stop. Sewer wasn't available if you had large Motorhome and a towed vehicle unless you wanted to unhook, but dump station is convenient on the way out. Although TV reception is limited, and cable is not available, pull through sites are satellite friendly. Would stay here again, overnight, if in the area.
09/2005

We regularly stay here on an overnight basis only while travelling through on I-40. A "Resort" it certainly isn't, or if so a 1/2 star resort, but using the Passport America rate for an overnight stay, it can't be beat. Pull through sites with full hookups and 50 smp service for less than $15 lets you put up with a little road noise from I-40. Again, it's not a destination park, but we've paid a lot more for a lot worse as far as an overnight stop is concerned. We definitely will stop there again, and I know what to expect, a reasonable full hookup overnight, nothing else.
